The Lilac Vivaldi
Dusty lilac bias-cut crepe gown with open back
The Lilac Vivaldi is the softer counterpart to the Emerald — same construction, different language. Where emerald speaks of deep forest and certainty, lilac speaks of dusk and half-made decisions. It is a dress for evenings that have not yet decided what they are.
The colour was selected across three fabric swatches before the right tone was found — not the sharp purple of commercial fashion, but a grayed, dusty lilac that sits somewhere between lavender and stone.
- Fluid matte crepe (dusty lilac)
- Bias-cut panel construction
- Silk charmeuse lining
- Open-back design with concealed modesty clasp
- Hand-stitched hem
The Colour
The dusty lilac of this gown required extensive fabric sourcing. The final choice is a matte crepe woven in Italy, dyed to a tone that shifts between grey and purple depending on light conditions. It was selected over three alternatives.
The Construction
Like its emerald counterpart, the Lilac Vivaldi is constructed from bias-cut panels aligned and joined with exceptional precision. The bias allows the fabric to follow the body's movement rather than constraining it.
The Back
The open back ends at a hand-sewn modesty clasp at the natural waist. The clasp is concealed within the seam, visible only upon close inspection — functional without being mechanical.
- Dry clean recommended
- The bias construction means this garment is susceptible to distortion if stored folded — hang only
- Press on reverse with a pressing cloth
