The Noir Puff
Corseted duchess satin bodice with layered tulle skirt
A study in contrasts: the Noir Puff is a tightly structured satin bodice meeting an explosive cloud of layered tulle. It is the most theatrical piece in the Rabel collection — and the most intentionally so.
The silhouette is short and high-volume, with the proportions of a 1950s couture ball gown compressed into cocktail length. The result is something simultaneously playful and architectural — a dress that photographs extraordinarily but is, above all, made to be worn.
- Duchess satin bodice
- 4-layer tulle skirt
- Internal boning (6-bone structure)
- Silk organza petticoat
- Concealed side zip
The Volume
The tulle skirt is constructed from four separate layers of differing lengths, each gathered independently at the waist seam before being joined. This creates graduated volume — full at the hem, controlled at the hip.
The Petticoat
Beneath the tulle, a silk organza petticoat holds the shape and prevents the layers from collapsing. It is stitched at the waist seam only, allowing it to move freely below.
The Bodice Structure
Six bones run vertically through the bodice, each individually sheathed. The bones are set slightly away from the side seams to allow for breathing and movement without compromising structure.
- Professional dry clean only
- Store hanging, or box-folded with acid-free tissue
- Tulle layers should be stored uncompressed where possible
